About Bandikui
The name "Bandikui" is derived from the word’s "bandh" and "kuye," which means "closed well." This name is said to have originated because of the presence of several wells in the area that were closed and only used by the local population. It comes under the panchayat samiti of Bandikui.
The present Bandikui history begins with the rail arrival in Rajasthan। On 20 April 1874, the first train ran between Bandikui and Agra Fort.
Bandikui took the form of a city in time due to trade and rail traffic. Overall, it would be correct to say that the foundation of Bandikui's development is rail. Bandikui is also known as Rail Nagari for this. The junction of Bandikui, India's largest railway colony, is very beautiful and captivating. Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme
The Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme has been rolled out in Rajasthan to provide economic support to the poor and needy families living in the cities through work to be provided on demand for 100 days a year. The Congress government has touted it as the country's biggest scheme to give guaranteed jobs to the people residing in cities, on the lines of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for villagers started by the UPA government at the Centre in 2006.
In 2005, India introduced a national anti-poverty program was introduced, now called the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, which offered up to 100 days of unskilled manual labour per year on public works projects.
Those in the age group of 18 to 60 years residing within the limits of urban local bodies are eligible to demand and get employment in the identified segments. There is no income limit, though the destitute people, especially those who lost their livelihood during the pandemic, will be given preference. More than 3.5 lakh people across the State have got themselves registered under the scheme so far and job cards have been issued to 2.25 lakh of them.
Indira Rasoi Yojana
Introduction of the scheme Indira Rasoi Yojana was launched by Mr Ashok Gehlot, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan with the resolution of “No one sleeps hungry” from 20 August 2020 through 358 kitchens in all 213 urban bodies of the state.
Budget announcement: In the year 2022-23, the number of kitchens has been increased from 358 to 1000, on which 9.25 crore food plates will be served every year and the needy can be benefited by spending Rs 250 crore.
The name of this scheme is after the country's great leader and former Prime Minister Late. Named after Mrs Indira Gandhi. Whose whole life was dedicated to the poor and the underprivileged?
Features of the scheme -
1. Pure, fresh and nutritious food for Rs 8 to the beneficiary
2. Respectful seating arrangement
3. 17 rupees per plate grant by the state government
4. Provision of Rs 250 crore per year for the scheme
5. Target to benefit 2.30 lakh people daily and 9.25 crore people every year. It can be further increased as per the requirement.
6. Operation of kitchens with the service and cooperation of local organizations
7. The food menu mainly includes 100 grams of pulses, 100 grams of vegetables, 250 grams of chapati and a pickle per plate.
8. Decentralized format - District level committee has the freedom to choose the place, menu and meal time as per requirement.
9. Information and feedback facility to the beneficiary through real-time online monitoring SMS gateway
10. Provision for the one-time basic expenditure of Rs 5 lakh and recurring expenditure of Rs 3 lakh per year for each kitchen operation.
11. Inspection and Quality Check by State/District Level Committee
12. Necessary provisions on kitchens to prevent corona epidemic
13. Normally lunch will be provided from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm and dinner from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
14. Food will be distributed through extension counters as per the requirement.
Rajasthan Urban Olympic Khel 2022
It was decided by the Government of Rajasthan to start Rajasthan Urban Olympic Khel 2022 to promote sports talent in the rural areas of the state and to showcase their talents to the athletes present there. This event is being organized at Gram Panchayat, Block, District and State levels. Six games including kabaddi, kho kho, shooting ball, volleyball, tennis and ball cricket will be organized in this sports event.
Bring the hidden sports talent in its rural areas to the state level. This sports program will be started in the state on August 29. About 30 lakh players will participate in different sports.
