The Department of local self Government is the controlling Department of all municipalities for all administrative purposes. It also performs monitoring and co-ordination function at the state level for all the 187 municipal bodies of the state.

This Department has a directorate to look after the day to day functioning of all these Urban Local Bodies. At present Sh. Manjit Singh (IAS), is the Principal Secretary of this department and Sh. Purushottam Biyani is the Director cum Joint Secretary of the Local Bodies.

Fatehnagar is a Town and a municipality in Udaipur district in the state of Rajasthan, India.
As of 2001 India census, Fatehnagar had a population of 19,624. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Fatehnagar has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 48%.
